Romance is dead. Long live romance.

Everyone has a different concept of what romance is:
– flowers and chocolate
– dinner out
– candlelit meals
– love letters (you know, on paper)
– dancing (not at a club)
– other things I won’t admit to liking

Cooking food, to me, is one of the best ways I can show someone how much I care. Flour-less Chili Chocolate Cupcakes for a friend’s birthday, holiday meals for my family, weekend breakfasts. The more they are appreciated, the greater the occurrences. Now. If a meal is made for me, when it’s for more than just sustenance, you have been elevated in status in my book. Of course, there’s a vast difference between my best girl friends making dinner and a boyfriend/husband making a meal – chances are good that the latter got laid lucky.

Romance is knowing what the other person will appreciate and making it happen for the enjoyment of the other. And while it’s not reserved for special occasions or Holidays, Valentine’s Day is a quick pass to GO in the kitchen. And maybe somewhere else.

If cooking with/for your main squeeze sounds like a good way to go, here’s some options for you to explore: **
